GJMM DEMANDS TRANSFER OF THREE OFFICERS
KalimNews: Kalimpong 11 July: GJMM has nothing in mind to harass the public, instead it wants the administration to be sympathetic enough to listen to the voice of the mass. H.B.Chhetri GJMM Press and Publicity Secretary adressing a Press Conference informed that K.L.Tamta, IG of Police, North Bengal , A.K.Chaturvedi, ASP and Rakesh Singh SDPO Kurseong should be transferred and all 23 arrested supporters of GJMM be released within 12 noon of 13th July.
He requested the shopowners of Kalimpong to keep their shops open on Sunday to allow the local people to stock essentials for the strike to be started from afternoon of monday. He further requested the people to be ready for the agitation as well as strike called by GJMM. Criticising the administration of foul play GJMM has described the incident of Panighatta as a preplanned conspiracy to discourage the GJMM supporters of plain area. GJMM alleged that the three police officers had lathicharged GJM supporters at a rally in Panighata, yesterday to please GNLF and frustrated CPI(M) which had failed to create a political base in the hills despite of all efforts.
According to the Police so far forty people including 20 activists of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) and as many of the Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF), including its leader Rajen Mukhiya, have been arrested in connection with the clash of 10th July. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC is imposed in Panighata till 5.30 pm of July 13, however, there will be a relaxation period of five hours from 0900-1200 hours and 1500-1700 hours every day for the convenience of the people. The arrested will be produced in Siliguri court later today, Rakesh Singh the SDPO added.
Tourists and Boarderers of different Schools started leaving the hill as they were informed to leave for their safety during the strike. According to party sources GJMM is not in a mood to compromise this time with the administration.

We Accept The Challenge Posed By Maoist-WB
PTI, Kolkata , Jul 11, West Bengal government today said it accepted the challenge posed by Maoists who killed two persons in WestMidnapore district where operations against the left wing ultras by security forces were on for almost a month now.
"We accept the challenge posed by Maoists,"state Home SecretaryArdhendu Sen told reporters when asked if the killing of the two byMaoists yesterday was a challenge to the administration.Sen said it was conformed that Maoists had killed the two, BarenMahato and Noni Mahato, who were ration dealers.He said it appeared that they were killed when they refused the extortion demands of the Maoists.
