Basibiyalo held in Siliguri

KalimNews, 20 Oct: The member of Basibiyalo, a monthly literary programme of Kalimpong, observed its 82nd episode at Siliguri during the poetry festival organised by the Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh at Mangal Maity Bhawan there on 10th Oct. Poet Samsher Ali, Co-ordinator, Bbiyalo before reciting his self composed poetry read out the code of conduct of the monthly programme. The other poets representing Kalimpong sub-division in the national poetry festival were Asim Sagar, Manoj Bogati, Gyan Sutar, Sarita Samdarshi, Deep Chhetri, Bishnu Bhujel etc. The occasion was tri-annual maha-adhiveshan of BGP where cultural and literary programmes were organised by the reception committee at the initiative of Surya Kumar Chhetri, President, BGP, Siliguri.

The literary segment was conducted by Remika Thapa and introductory speech was delivered by Man Prasad Subba. The other prominent poets to take part in the poem recitation programme were Gyanendra Khatiwara, Bhupendra Adhikari, Dr. Rajendra Bhandari, Pushpadhar Sharma, Shanti Pradhan, Lachuman Dahal, etc.
